#HumboldtStrong

The tragedy of the Humboldt Broncos tour bus crash has brought many communities across North America, and even the world, together. The strength that this team has shown is something we can all learn from, always be kind and positive. Wearing a jersey went international showing support for this team and their family and friends going through this unimaginable event. Chris was so impressed with the students at Claresholm Elementary School rallying together and setting a great example for each other.

The Humboldt Broncos GoFundMe page is still open to anyone wishing to donate.

Scotiabank Charity Challenge - Calgary Marathon

It only takes one to change the conversation, earlier this year Chris was denied participation in the LA Marathon, so when the Scotiabank Charity Marathon in Calgary, AB caught wind of it they got on board right away!

Chris Koch, a motivational speaker born without full arms and legs says his first marathon race is dedicated to raising funds and awareness for Calgary's Inn From The Cold shelter.  Chris Koch hopes to raise $10,000 to help end child and family homelessness by long-boarding his way through the Calgary marathon.  The donation page is open until the end of June.

Please help us with our fundraising efforts to help eliminate child and family homelessness!

Chris Koch used his long board to successfully finish The Scotiabank Calgary Marathon last week in 4:23:12!!

Chris' mother, and girlfriend ran the 10K to support him in his athletic and fundraising endeavors!  Way to go team #ifican together we can make a difference!

Top of the Tower for the Calgary Zoo!

This will be the 3rd time that If I Can... will be climbing the Calgary Tower to raise money for the Calgary Zoo. We're always wanting to "raise the bar" so this year we're climbing the tower 5x or 4010 stairs on the morning of December 15th. Joining me, Chris Koch, will be Barb Koch, Georgie, Neylon, J.R. Comstock, Davina Comstock, Tarah Van Hilten, Stevie McMasters and Matt Muldoon.

The money raised will be going to the zoo in support of its conservation efforts and dedication to the animals in its care. You can make your donation through this giving page or go directly to the Calgary Zoo website. December 15 is also #GivingZOOday where money raised will go towards providing animals with enrichment, such as special items that encourage natural behaviours. Visitors to the zoo on December 15, 2015 will be able to see the animals receive the #GivingZOODay donations in the form of enrichment gifts. Thank you all in advance for you support and generosity.

ALBERTA SPORTS HALL OF FAME

Chris Koch - If I Can, I am honored and thrilled to be considered as an inductee to the Alberta Sports Hall of Fame.  On May 29, 2015 I will attend the induction ceremony for which I will accept the award for Multi-Sport Achievement.

UNITED NATIONS, NEPAL

Chris Koch - If I Can spoke to UN Refugees in Nepal.

In my first week in Nepal, I traveled to Dhangadi and Nepalganj and was struck by the lack of facilities for people with disabilities. It is sad to see many people with disabilities in Nepal living without citizenship.  If you give people opportunities for good education, they can become key and crucial individuals. No one should be ashamed because they are disabled. It happens, it’s a part of life. How you react to it is the key.

I want to give people with disabilities in Nepal confidence and let them know that they have the ability to do anything and live independently.

STEPPING STONES SCHOOL

Chris Koch- If I Can, spoke at the Stepping Stones School in Cambodia, Southeast Asia as part of a personal tour through the country.  So many amazing smiles, laughs and memories were taken from the time spent with those happy children.
